Statement from Sandi Strickland, Owner of In Bloom Salon & Spa

After much reflection and many heartfelt conversations, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close the doors of In Bloom Salon & Spa.
This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. Like many small businesses, the past several years have brought challenges that were impossible to predict. Despite our best efforts, and the continued support of so many loyal clients, it has become clear that continuing the salon is no longer sustainable.
In Bloom was always much more than a salon to me. It was a place built around care, creativity, and connection. From our early days on Foam Street to our most recent chapter, my goal was always to create a welcoming space where people could relax, feel cared for, and leave feeling their best.
Over the years I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people. Many clients became friends, and many of those friendships will stay with me long after the doors close. I am deeply grateful to every person who supported In Bloom, trusted us with their care, and made this journey so meaningful.
I also want to thank the talented professionals who worked alongside me throughout the years. Their dedication, creativity, and genuine care for our clients helped make In Bloom the special place it became.
To the Monterey community, thank you. Small businesses survive because of community, and I will always be grateful for the encouragement, loyalty, and kindness shown to me and to the salon.
Our final week of operations will be this week, with final payroll and appointments concluding on Thursday.
While this chapter is coming to a close, the spirit of what we built at In Bloom will always remain with me. I am proud of the space we created together and grateful for the memories, conversations, and connections that filled the salon over the years.
As I take time to reflect on what comes next, I look forward to staying connected with the many wonderful people who have been part of this journey.
